Yesterday morning, the same deer crossed in front of my car twice. I was on my way in to work, and had just turned off 81. It was about 4:40 in the morning, and luckily, I noticed the doe off to my right and slowed down. She corssed in front of me, then cut across a corner lot and crossed the road again just as I turned the corner. It's the first time I've seen a deer up by work. I'm not surprised that there ARE deer there...it's a somewhat open, somewhat industrial area up there, and we back on a field/swamp, good cover...I just haven't SEEN any before. In any event, deer seem to be amazingly adaptable to urban environments, I remember seeing one in Oakland, just after getting off 580 @ Macarthur Blvd. Apparently it had been sleeping in the ground cover. :)
I left work at about 10 AM this morning and came home and went to bed. I slept from about 11:30 till just before 2PM. I'm still a bit feverish, but not feeling quite so crappy. I took about 4 grams of Vitamin C this morning, and it seems to have helped with the sore throat. I'll take some more this evening, and go to bed a bit earlier, and hope that helps knock out the cold.
This afternoon I did my one mile walking tape for the first time since hurting my knee last week. It reminded me of its presence at about the half mile mark, but didn't actively hurt. This is good. I also did about 15 min of leg/ankle/hip stretches & warm ups before walking to help make it easier. So I think I'll continue this practice to ease back into the cardio work.
Another note of weight loss/toning progress...this afternoon, I noticed that when I raise my arms over my head that my triceps are not hanging down as much as they used to. They're toning up very slowly but surely.
