Amazingly enough, it did in fact snow last night... after having spent a large part of the day in a warming trend (so it was in the upper teens and mid twenties as opposed to single digits, it's a warming trend in MN). Therefore, this morning when I went in to work, there was snow over ice -- which is oh, so much fun to drive in... So, my haiku for the day:

Delicate deceit--
Snow layer'd on icy roads,
Watch for sliding cars.

And just because I sometimes worry about my mind -- I'm currently working as a dispatcher for a school bus company. We have to do safety messages for drivers, and I've started writing them in haiku. I don't know where this obsession for poetry is coming from -- particularly a form of poetry that almost no one I work with understands or gets. They like stuff that rhymes. Now THAT'S poetry.

But, hey, I'm a freak. But here's the safety message haiku, which just amuses the hell out of me.

Following distance--
Space cushion prevents crashes,
Remember to check.

I kind of wonder where it will all end. I read about a haiku master who was in a coma during his last days, but still moved his hands as if counting syllables. Maybe he was writing haiku about they process of dying. Hmmm....
