well, last evening I returned from a perfectly lovely sojourn in Boston. Starsong turned out the welcome mat and treated me, oh so well. The weather was absolutely fabulous, sunny and delicious every day.

The lovely lindalee was a wonderful hostess, despite the stress of trying to complete the upstairs apartment so that it would be fit for occupation.

tigira, meadmaker, ravenstorm27 and cairpre26 were all good company and much merriment was made.

We went to the Open Air Circus in Somerville, and watched Morris being danced on stilt -- and as meadmaker said, they did it better than some Morris sides I've seen. They'd been well coached by lindalee and tigira, and tigira played for the performance. I finally had the chance to see The Occult Experience...Alex's Vegas showgirl headdress and flaming crotch are definitely an experience. And I'm really thinking that we need more big ugly crowns in Blue Star. Nothing says "I am a big important HPs" like a big ugly moon crown. I mean a crown with a moon bigger than your head. :-D

We went the the Fetish Fair, and although I'd hoped to find some embarassing sex toys to pack in my luggage (which had been "inspected for my safety" on the outgoing trip), nothing called to me, and I couldn't justify spending the money for anything less. Although I was given a red rose penis at the Fair, which I did pack. :-)

And the Lammas Games, arranged by the SEF, were way too much fun. I came in 3rd in The Priestess' Cat, and if my tongue and brain hadn't disconnected, might have done better. Meadmaker won the Priapic Pillars of Pan, managing with only his tongue for assistance. Lindalee was one of the runners-up, managing to keep her pillar erect...until they added a second one to the mix. ;)

The swanky Monday night dinner was, well, swanky, and I got a chance to meet and chat with ravenstorm27 and cairpre26. They served us a fabulous dinner...and lindalee and I added our bit to the swankiness of the occasion with a ginger-peach cheesecake.

And Tuesday night was the evening of homemade sushi. It was a revelation to me how easy it is to make. A wonderful and deeply satisfying experience. In fact, we almost made too much, and if a late arrival hadn't appeared, we may have had trouble finishing it.

And now I'm home. The cats are all well...Odhinn is losing some of the baby-ness. He's grown a bit and is ever more feisty. Merlin is crantankerous as ever, and appears to be recovering from the latest stroke. Freya is, well, Freya. Lovely and loving, and occasionally moody. I missed them all terribly. And apparently they missed me as well, since they mobbed me at the door. Or maybe they were just hungry.

And if someone could PLEASE explain to me how to make the little icon-y things appear with the names of other LJ people, I would really appreciate it. Because every time I try, it just doesn't work...
