Wow! what a weekend. The 2* initiation on Friday night, the Renn Faire on Sat. and to top everything off, the migraine on Sunday.

The Renn Faire was fun. [livejournal.com profile] eponacrony, [livejournal.com profile] lindalee and I went to the Faire. Well, we TRIED to go to the Faire. We spent a LONG time in the car waiting to get into the Faire because of the traffic, both outgoing AND incoming. That wasn't too bad, since we had a lot of fun kibbitzing. But by the time we got there, we were all sort of tired since we'd all been up way too late the night before doing just a little bit of magic. So we wandered a bit and shopped a bit.

I was VERY bad and bought not only the jet acorn from Reva of Amber Moon for which I'd been waiting 3 years, but also another jet raven pendant. This one is significantly different from my first one (raven holding a pearl), since it's actually a raven woman...which is somehow SO very appropriate for My Lady. And it's set with a lovely amethyst. And once I touched the pendant it was all over. I received many compliments on the pendant while at the Faire... And I finally have a pair of acorn earrings, one amber (Dominican blue) and one jet. YAY! Reva's stuff is, as always, amazing.

Unfortunately, I also let myself get extremely dehydrated as well as failing to eat anywhere near sufficient food for the day. Which leads me directly to migraine Sunday. So I spent most of the day sleeping and the rest of it reading quietly or watching movies. AND making sure that I ate and drank PLENTY. So this morning I am feeling more stable.
Apparently Odhinn is turning into a silverback gorilla. When I adopted him, he was black with a white triangle patch under the chin. But in the last three weeks (actually, since he was neutered), he's developing patches of silvery gray in several different areas...on the underside of his tail, along both sides of his belly and along the sides of his chin. The fur in these areas has a sort of powdery/silvery gray tone to it.

At first I thought I was just losing my mind -- after all THAT was bound to happen at some point. But actually, it's kind of fascinating to watch. And somehow not inappropriate in one named Odhinn. But most unexpected in my black kitten. Don't get me wrong, he's still too damn adorable for his own good. He just looks like a silverback. :o)
