So, last night I dozed off while reading in bed. Lights blazing, etc. The cats were all happily ensconced in their various napping locations...Merlin and Freya in the living room, and Odhinn against my leg. Everyone was pretty much ignoring me.

I woke up at around 11:30 or so, and turned off the lights and got back into bed...which was apparently a signal to the cats that NOW was the time to demand affection and attention. First Merlin jumped on the bed, walked up my leg and stood on my chest, applying kitty accupressure, and started headbutting my nose, licking my nose and doing the Siamese meow in between the previous maneuvers. So, of course Freya had to get into the act, and just as I escorted Merlin off me, she leapt onto my chest and started licking my chin and rolling around asking to be petted. Meanwhile, Merlin was doing the rusty chainsaw purr beside my left ear. Odhinn's contribution was to attack my toes. So, obviously, I wasn't able to go back to sleep.

I got up and did some puttering, which was the signal for them to return to their napping positions...but when I tried to get back into bed, it was again time for affection and attention. GAH!

So, not much sleep for a tired girl. Little bastards (yes, even the lovely Freya)!
Despite my cranky morning, I've stationed Earth Prayers from Around the World beside my computer. Today's blessing is:

It is lovely indeed, it is lovely indeed.

I, I am the spirit within the earth.
The feet of the earth are my feet;
The legs of the earth are my legs.
The strength of the earth is my strength;
The thoughts of the earth are my thoughts;
The voice of the earth is my voice.
The feather of the earth is my feather;
All that belongs to the earth belongs to me;
All that surrounds the earth surrounds me.
I, I am the sacred works of the earth.
It is lovely indeed, it is lovely indeed.
