Today's Earth Prayer

Be a gardener.

Dig a ditch,

toil and sweat,

and turn the earth upside down

and seek the deepness

and water the plants in time.

Continue this labor

and make sweet floods to run

and noble and abundant fruits

to spring.

Take this food and drink

and carry it to God

as your true worship

I love the images in this one – that food and drink from one’s own hands are the true worship.  So, it really IS all about the food. ;)

 

If only I had the talent for gardening.  Alas, it has always eluded me.  Well, that, and I don’t like heat overly much and particularly here in MN it gets so hot and muggy during the summer – which is, of course, prime time to garden.  :)
