As I type, I’m eating breakfast, so I think this one is appropriate:

The food which we are about to eat

Is Earth, Water and Sun, compounded through the alchemy

of many plants.

Therefore Earth, Water and Sun will become part of us.

This food is also the fruit of the labor of many beings and

creatures.

We are grateful for it.

May it give us strength, health, joy.

And may it increase our love.

So Mote It Be.

No, I didn't get involved in a land war in Asia...and I didn't go up against a Sicilian when death was on the line. ;) But I did try to schedule TOO many home projects for today.

I *forgot* that I had to go to work, and not just go to work...but also go to an unutterably boring, irretrievably pointless meeting. We're supposed to be going on-line with the policy changes on Monday, and I've been working with the new website (designed by the district, based on what THEY need, and rather counterproductive to our way of doing things). Today all the people who least need to understand the web site were at the meeting, and it was run by the IT guy, who is quite nice, and very smart...but has all the charisma and ability to explain things in a coherent fashion of an overcooked rigatoni noodle. *sigh* I've only been working with the pieces for a few days, but I could have explained it more clearly and concisely... And the meeting went on well past the time for my *next* meal, which made me very cranky. Luckily we broke up just before I wrung somebody's neck. :)

BUT, the workbench is actually upstairs (and the main part is also in the back room). The new pantry cabinet is also upstairs, and I may have the energy to put it together. The attic stuff won't get done today. I may decide to do it tomorrow... Cleaning the bedroom closet is definitely out, although I may decide to fold some of the clean clothes that have been living in the laundry basket for a while. :)

I didn't get to bed before 9pm last night, because I was waiting for the quilt to dry...but I did take a melatonin about 20 min before bed, and I slept deeply and actually woke up somewhat refreshed. Although I'll be honest and say I reset the alarm to sleep longer. Still trying to catch up on the sleep, I guess. I lay down for a nap just after coming home, and woke up 4 min before the alarm went off. Maybe I can get this timing thing working. ;)

OK, so ALL 12 pieces of the workbench are now in the back room. The pantry cupboard pieces are unpacked and sorted so that when I get my act together (tomorrow, Saturday at the latest), it SHOULD be an easy assembly. I know, famous last words. :)

I actually got it together to do my 1 mile walking tape this afternoon...with my new workout shoes. I found some workout shoes that are *ergonomically correct*... The heel is slightly lowered (like the old earth shoes), and by pushing the pelvis slightly forward, lengthens the spine and gets it into good alignment for tightening the abs and strengthening the back. The soles are also weighted, providing the benefits of walking with weights, without the same issues of ankle/knee injuries that ankle weights have...in part because the weight is even placed throughout the sole, and also because the shoes give ankle support and are supposed to be all about putting your feet into proper alignment. Each foot weighs approximately 3 extra pounds. Since it had been a few days since I'd worked out, I decided to go back and do the one mile walk...I didn't have ANY problems with my shins, knees or ankles while doing the one mile tape. I also didn't have any problem keeping up the pace and even with the additional weight I wasn't winded. I also did my stretches. YAY me!

I'm going to be winding down very soon. I think I'll go load the dishwasher, drink some water, fold some clothes and then take my melatonin and go to bed. Sleep sweet.
