I know you all are SHOCKED by that statement. :p. Granted, I can't even say that with a straight face.

My second project was a Moebius Cowl. I WAS trying to follow the actual crochet directions, but I seem to have somehow twisted it twice when joining it up. It was the required length, but it seems tight for how it SHOULD drape. Since it's crocheted in the round (spiral, to be accurate), I'm not sure it can be fixed...but it does look kinda cool. Granted...when I say I was trying to follow directions, I used a similar yarn, but not the one SPECIFIED in the pattern.

Then to make things more interesting for myself, I used dark red and black (you work with two yarns on the hook) to make following the pattern even more complicated. :) And I decided to add some edging on the fly...I worked a simple lace edging stitch, black on one side and red on the other. I think it ups the Goth ante just a bit.

I'm going to block the the thing and then see what it looks like. And I'll take some pictures. I want to ask the pattern creator what SHE thinks.

I rolled out of bed, brushed my teeth, threw on some clothes and got to the polling place @ 6:40. And I was by no means the first person in line. By the time the polls opened, the line stretched from 36th St to 37th St. I was the 145th person to receive my ballot and the 143rd vote registered.

By 7:40, I was done. And the line outside still stretch almost to 37th St.

When I got my little red "I Voted" sticker, I put it on my forehead. Then I moved it to the nape of my neck. More interesting that way.

GO VOTE!
Not being registered is no excuse for NOT voting. You can register AT the polls. You just need proof of identity and proof of current address. That is all. And your employer is REQUIRED to allow you time off to vote. You can bring your minor children with you and they can come in the booth (grandiose term in my district) with you.

Period. NO EXCUSES, PEOPLE!

Can you tell I was reading the election regulations while standing in line? :)

Wow. That was a long day.

I drove about 125 miles altogether and photographed about 35 intersections. I couldn't photograph some of them because there was no safe parking nearby.

I stopped when it was getting dark.

One thing that I find encouraging is that I passed numerous polling places today and they were all pretty busy. I'm still rather cynical about the process, but it's insensibly cheering to see that people are turning out to try and make their voices heard. Whether I agree with them or not.
Hope you're feeling better, sweetie!
