I left Angostura Reservoir at about 7am Mountain time this morning. I took the scenic byways through the Badlands and through the Pine Ridge Reservation -- yeah, ask me about my experience on Highway 2 sometime -- and then wended my way up to 90 through an amazing section of the Badlands. There was mist and fog with washes of sunlight as I made my way through the Badlands...it was GLORIOUS.
Originally my plan was to stay in Sioux Falls tonight and then drive home tomorrow. But the closer I got, the more I wanted to be HOME. With a purple passion. So I drove like hell and made the entire 715+ mile trip in just about 15 hours. I stayed hydrated and made fairly regular pit stops for food, gas, restroom...and always some stretching.
But while I am home and oh, so happy to be sleeping in my own bed with my own cats, I am toasty, charred and done. Done, done and done.
But I have four whole days to recuperate. Tomorrow, the chiropractor, I think.
Oh, and there WILL be pictures of the adventure. :)
