I so scored this morning! I LOVE skirt steak. I think it may be my most favoritest cut of steak. It can also be insanely difficult to find. However, I've found a place (a SuperTarget, no less) where I can almost always find it..because it's often used to make fajitas and/or carne asada and the store is located in an area with a large-ish Mexican population. Today, not only did they have the skirt steak, but it was on sale because today is the "sell-by" date. $2.50 off per package. Yeah, baby! I bought a bunch and stuck them in the freezer.
In other news...
Today is my rest day. When I woke up yesterday, I was debating whether to go to the pool then or wait until today. I decided to go then, and I think I'm glad I did.
This morning I sat out in the sun in a little park and worked on a hat. I finished it up, but I'm not satisfied with the final result. It's supposed to be a "flowerpot" style -- kinda straight up and down with a slightly broader, somewhat floppy brim. However, it turned out more cloche-like than fowerpot-like. Granted, my face and neck are slimming down, but I have NEVER looked good in a cloche. I have some ideas for mods, and I have some of the same yarn in a different color. So I think I'll test my ideas before consigning this to the frog pond.
