I so rarely have an issue with the number of syllables in a line of haiku, that when it happens I get totally shocked. After I logged off earlier, I suddenly said "huh?" and when I re-counted, I realized that there are SIX syllables in my first line. DAMMIT!
So, a re-write is in order...
Drive on river road,
Windows down, radio on--
The breeze in my hair.
Well, that one still captures the mood -- and the syllables are right. PHEW!
