I got the pantry cupboard put together and installed. It's actually rather smaller than I'd thought (math innumerate), so I've chosen a different location in the kitchen, and will find some other storage piece for the original spot.

They've apparently finally managed to idiot-proof the directions, and the only problem(s) I had was that in the fine tradition of my house, ALL of my screwdrivers have disappeared. Every blasted one of them...both straight edge and phillips head. Not the drill bits, of course, but I didn't really want to put this together using the drill...it just seemed like overkill. And the handles that came with the cupboard were ugly, tacky plastic. Just not acceptable in Cynthia's world. So I tried to swap them out with handles I already had *in stock* but OF COURSE they're an odd size and won't work. *sigh*

I went to the Farmer's Market this morning where I was able to buy yummy buffalo meat, including a roast which will be a large number of meals for the week, as well as some fruit and veggies...and a small lavendar plant, which I will attempt NOT to kill. I have apparently inherited my mother's black thumb. And with the best intentions in the world, plants are lucky to survive in my home. I DO have an ivy plant that I haven't managed to kill yet, but that's about it. If I don't manage to kill it, I'm sure the cats will eventually commit planticide. They usually do. I also ran into [livejournal.com profile] faedaughter and her lovely wife, [livejournal.com profile] thicknwild...and we all commented that it was pretty damn chilly this morning. I was wearing a fleece top, but hadn't taken the wind into account, which just whips through the Market.

And after the Farmer's Market this morning, I headed over to Target in downtown MPLS and found a racheting screwdriver with 15 bits, and much more appropriate handles. So pantry is complete (with doors that actually hang pretty evenly), in place and filled with stuff.

And I'll be off to get my wristband colored in today... At 2pm. YAY! I may treat myself to sushi afterward. It's not strictly on my eating plan, but it's not far off from it, and sushi is worth the occasional splurge. But I'll see how I feel after the tat appointment. :)
