Hmmm... Well, I made it through the week without killing anyone. That makes it a good week.
And today my new, sleeker chairs were delivered. I checked with the warehouse yesterday and they said between 2:45 and 4:45. Well, the guys were here are 2:40! That's service. They lugged the chairs up the stairs, unwrapped them, put the feet on, and then took the garbage with them. Woo Hoo!
The cats were mightily freaked at first, but now they're seeing some possibilities. The arms and back aren't as wide, so sleeping on them won't be happening much, but Freyja's currently curled up in the cranberry chair so I think it's all good. And they're taller than the old ones, which is more comfortable with my longer legs.
I've decided that upholstery people are just evil, twisted souls. I have an ottoman I'd bought at a garage sale that I finally decided to take apart to remake. Well, they stapled, folded and restapled everything...but sometimes there was only one or two staples per inch, and sometimes 100 million. There was no pattern. But I got them all out finally and have reattached the webbing and foundation in its new configuration. Now I just need to cut the batting and fabric, and then staple them on and screw the new legs on. And then I'll have a comfy ottoman that also provides extra seating in a pinch! I bought some lovely green velvety chenille stuff at Mill End with my 50% off coupon. It should go nicely with the new green chair in the computer room.
I do have to go in to work tomorrow for a while...since I have to figure out how to handle the early release day next week (what bent twig decided that early releases were a good idea?). But at least I'll be there by myself, and my mantra is overtime is good.
