I went looking for a new couch today. I found JUST what I wanted, but it was part of a sofa/occasional chair combo, a lovely tobacco tweedy fabric, deep and comfy without masses of pillows. Sadly, they wouldn't break the set up...and ultimately, they were just out of my price range (even with a 20% off coupon). *sigh* I'm being fierce about sticking to what I've budgeted for it. No wiggling, I mean it!
I did find a couch one that's decent...it's comfortable, and in a taupe-y tweedy fabric it's a good neutral and would fit in with the green and the cranberry chairs, as well as the oriental rug, which is the base from which I decorate. :) But honestly, it's hard to get all worked up about purchasing it when there was a couch that I WANTED. But I'll need to make a decision soon, because the clock is ticking on my 20% off coupon. On the other hand, I could decide to wait until after the holidays when there might well be OTHER coupons. *sigh*
In other news, my car is fixed. In the end, I'm pretty certain the repairs were almost as much as the book value for a 1996 Suubaru. But she's a functional and reliable little car, and with a little TLC, can get another 100K miles. I pick her up tomorrow, and so will say GOODBYE to the bad ass monster truck! I've had fun. :)
