I'm wondering if Odhinn may have separation anxiety. I know, it sounds like I'm anthropomorphizing, but his behavior seems consistent with some of the stuff I've seen in human kids with separation anxiety -- and I know that cats have feelings and emotions...they just don't have a vocabulary that we necessarily understand.
Every morning as I'm getting dressed for work, Odhinn starts trying to pull stuff off the dvd player, digging on the entertainment center glass door, or just creating general havoc. And he'll stop, look at me and meow piteously. Sometimes I can distract him with something to "kill," but he'll often just go back to the destructive behavior pretty fast. On the other hand, if I don't get dressed to leave, the behavior doesn't happen.
So, it appears that I have two cats with psychological disorders...Freyja with OCD and Odhinn with separation anxiety. How the hell did this happen?
