It's entirely possible that the back room might actually become a viable workspace instead of the Pit of Despair it's been for the past almost year.

Now, it hasn't always been a Pit of Despair, but around the time the ceiling started to leak, I started just throwing stuff in there and not actually doing anything else with it. And then it was overwhelming. But I'm feeling more hopeful now. And I've actually been doing some things to help the process along. :)

1. The ceiling leak was fixed late last year/early this year.

2. I moved the HUGE boardroom type table out (of course, it's still currently sitting on the back landing, but, whatever). (that was in May or June)

3. I moved the metal shelves into the kitchen and the desk to the wall formerly occupied by the huge table (in early July), I also moved one of the *pantry* cupboards which formerly resided in the kitchen into the back room.

4. I moved the workbench to the wall that has the three prong plugs (necessary for my Foredom hand tools), moved the cupboard against the wall the workbench formerly occupied (no plugs), and put together the big bookcase I bought in January (which had been leaning against the wall in the computer room ever since). I also started moving ALL my jewelry/craft books into the bookcase, and moved all types of little equipment on there as well. (last weekend)

5. I attached the holder for my Foredom to the workbench (on Thurs) and got both Foredoms set up.

6. I put together a small cupboard (to go under one of the windows) that I bought FOUR years ago (it had been sitting in my front hall ever since). Originally, I was going to get another one and make a desk out of them, but when I went back, they were all gone. But now it's assembled and got still more craft-y type stuff sitting on it (that's today).

I still have general organizing and culling to do, but it's actually beginning to look like a space that might have a real purpose to it.
