Today was SO not a good day. I've been working, and working...and working. And I'll be working most of the weekend. Because I've gotten paperwork for thirty five kids this week who will not have transportation for the first week of school.
And then today I had the cranky parents calling me about why their kids didn't have transportation yet and how hard is it to dispatch a bus to pick up a kid? Yup. Have YOU tried it lately? Particularly when all the schools have changed their times this year.
And then to top it off, I get the call from the district, "why don't you have the paperwork for Kid A, Kid B and Kid C? You picked it up up." "No Allan, I picked up their paperwork for SUMMER SCHOOL, not for the fall. Oh, and if you look back to the email I sent you on July 22, their names are on my list for not having received paperwork." Did he actually READ the email and check the kids to see if he had their paperwork? No. He didn't have time to check. Mind you, I spent a lot of time I didn't have cross checking last year's database of kids with this year's paperwork and putting together lists of kids with missing paperwork or incorrect information or just basic anomalies to try to avoid just this situation, but he didn't have time to read it. Now his fuck up is my emergency. Explain that one to me. I hate start up.
My boss still hasn't made the announcement about the new position, so technically no one knows I'm changing jobs. Which makes all this even more fun.
