Well, this morning started off in a wonderful fashion. Freya, my beloved car simply WOULD NOT start. And no, I didn't get off of work...my boss sent one of the drivers to get me so that I would handle dispatch. I had NO downtime at all, since I didn't get to work until 6am. All things considered, I handled things quite well. But I hate being at the mercy of other people's schedules, since I had to find someone to take me home.
We're operating under the assumption that it's the starter. For those interested, Freya was showing symptoms about a week and a half ago. When Tony (a mechanic) looked at her and tried starting her up -- he had NO problems at all. Tried 13 times, started right up 13 times. Thereafter I had no trouble until this morning. feh! The battery is less than 3 years old, the alternator is about 2 years old, the ignition module is about a year old, but the starter is original. Freya's a '96 Subaru. It's probably time to change the starter. :o)
So I am car-less for now. I'm just glad I did my grocery shopping YESTERDAY. I usually put it off until I have nothing left to eat. And well, yesterday was that day.
Jason (other mechanic) has ordered a part and will have time to put it in on Sunday. I will try to start her up on and off over the weekend. If I can get her started and up to the shop, it'll make things easier for Jason (and get her fixed that much quicker). Please think good "car starting" thoughts for me on Sunday.
