I just got most of my hair cut off. No, really. This would make so much more sense if my camera were working and I could post a picture, particularly since many of you have never seen me with anything less than shoulder length hair. :)
It's now shorter than it's been in almost 12 years, a little bit shorter than chin length. I can't even make pigtails with what's left! OMGs, my neck has NO weight on it. I'd been getting wicked hair headaches recently, and now my head feels about 50 lbs lighter.
Since it was in such good condition, the first 10 1/2 inches were donated to Locks of Love. Dustin said he'd never seen such a thick ponytail...and considering how fine my hair is, that's saying something. The remaining 4 inches or so were for shaping, etc.
The idea came to me around Hecate's Moon. I've been trying to clear things out and make room for new possibilities. And suddenly the hair seemed like something that needed to change. So, today I did it. I saved a lock, enough for a braid as an offering to Herself. But the rest is gone.
I'll try to get a picture soon.
