OK, so the color may have been a fail, but LOVE the Paton's Classic Merino Wool!

tigira posted a link for knitting (or in my case, crocheting) squares for a charity in Soweto who will convert those squares into blankets for kids with HIV. So since I have so many stitch patterns that I want to work on and I'd like to make something for people in need, I thought why not?

So when I got home from work, I dug through my stash. I found some Paton's Classic Merino Wool that I picked up on sale at Joann's (one of their lovely 30% off dealies). The rosewood heather pink was just too blah a pink for my taste when I got it home, but there's a fair amount on a skein, and I think it's a good wool to be using for this. Plus, well, it's very soft merino wool. Nice stuff for a very reasonable price. OK, so I'd still prefer Malabrigo, but this stuff is pretty damn good for about half the price. :)
