I'm glad that I went to water aerobics this morning. I was supposed to have my first swim lesson this evening...I was there, in my swimsuit, but the instructor wasn't.
I checked in at the desk and got my paper voucher. May I suggest that when one is supposed to shower BEFORE going into the pool area a paper voucher may pose just a few problems? I changed, showered and took the voucher into the pool area. I spoke with the head lifeguard, who got a deer caught in the headlights look in her eyes and scurried off to phone the instructor. She came back a few minutes later and told me that I'm scheduled for next week. True. However, I scheduled for THIS week AND next week and received a confirmation for this week on Monday, as well as a reminder. She scurried back and called the instructor again. Oops. They screwed up.
If I'd been the one screwing up, I'd be out a lesson. I got an apology. Somehow, it just doesn't seem quite equivalent -- I show up early, check in, change, shower and am wearing a swimsuit and have now wasted about an hour of my time.
Anyway, I swam a few laps and used the kickboard. I've also discovered some cool water stretches using the pool wall that really seem to help my back.
