Well, the day has been...interesting. I somehow managed to turn OFF my alarm yesterday morning, so it didn't sound THIS morning. Luckily I build plenty of *putter* time into my morning routine. I woke up 45 min late, but still managed to make it to work on time.

My chicken, mushrooms and leek dish made in the slow cooker turned out FABU, and made a lovely breakfast and an even better lunch. I foresee using the slow cooker to make after circle feast often and often. :o) And even though I know how ridiculously simple it is to make creme fraiche (thick soured cream, for those who haven't had this delectable treat), I somehow don't make it nearly often enough. But now I have some, because it was a *secret* ingredient for the dish. Yay!

I had a huge, ugly brain fart at work today. I rarely have them, and it really upsets me when something like that happens. I blew a tier on one of the routes this morning -- a driver was running late, and I covered the first tier of the route he did LAST YEAR. So I had a number of kids waiting for a bus in the rain. Silly rabbit! I got another driver out, but that tier ran terribly late. And it doesn't help that my boss is the panicky type who throws his hands up in the air and runs around like a chicken with his head cut off. GAH!

The head Safety guy at the District called me to ask what was up. But what you need to understand is that his name has become a verb in Minneapolis Dispatch, i.e., if someone is acting up, they will *Crenshaw* you...or set Steve on your ass to make you straighten up and fly right. Because Steve will roll you like a drunk on a Saturday night if you're trying to stonewall him or give him the run around. So, Steve calls me up and asks in a deceptively quiet voice what happened with that run. I said, "Well, Steve, I fucked up. I sent a driver out to cover the wrong first tier because my mind was obsessing on the wrong route." Imagine my relief when all he said was "Oh, OK. Be more careful next time." So I didn't get Crenshawed today. On the down side, we'll get a huge fine. :o/ But mistakes happen, and it could have been much worse...it has been before, and probably will be again.

But this day is nearly done, and tomorrow is another one.
