I had a whole bird theme going on with the haiku (I've actually got a couple more featuring brids waiting), but then yesterday the temps went up a bit here in MN. I think we may have hit 20. And I saw that a number of trees had budded out. And so, here goes today's haiku...

Sap begins to rise…
Buds burgeon, waiting to burst.
The trees wait for Spring.

OK, that first line was NOT supposed to have a question mark... It was an ellipses. But I guess when I did the cut and paste thing, something somewhere got confused (the difference between Word and LiveJournal code, I guess). So the haiku should read:

Sap begins to rise...
Buds burgeon, waiting to burst.
The trees wait for Spring.

I was madly writing haiku at work today... it was slow and I was bored -- I'd forgotten my book. But then several people asked me what I was doing. I said "writing haiku" to which they said "what?" So I took a poll. Out of the 20 people I asked, only 2 knew what the hell I was talking about.

I obviously keep forgetting that I'm a freak.

So when I was out in CA last week visiting family and friends, I had the opportunity to visit the tidepools at Moss Beach (near Half Moon Bay). If you ever get the chance, go and visit. They're amazing.

The tide ebbs...pools form

Damn I love it when you get the funky double entendres! :->

And then, when I was sitting in the most boring meeting ever, I wrote one memorializing the crash and burn of my 'puter (Windows XP, the evil OS) last fall.

Golden corn ripens
System unstable...refresh
My computer crashed.

Stop me before I count syllables again.
