More and more I think that I probably have some sort of sleep disorder. Of course, I currently have no insurance nor can I afford an actual sleep study, but the more I read about sleep disorders the more I see some of my own patterns.

I have trouble FALLING asleep if there's any light in the room. Which means when my fan's in the window and my next door neighbor leaves his porch light on all night (which is every night), it takes forever for me to fall asleep. Even when I have the windows closed and the air conditioner on, it's digital and there're little lights that irritate me. And, of course, in summer when the days are long -- don't even get me started.

But then there's also the waking up from a sound sleep. I wake up on an average of 2-3 times a night. And the smallest thing will wake me up, and then I can't get back to sleep.

But I think the worst of all are the panic wake ups. I have several of those per week. Where I sit bolt upright in a complete panic with all kinds of adrenaline running through my veins. I don't THINK they're dream related, but I rarely remember my dreams. Although there was a fragment of a rather strange one recently involving a pagan convention and Bill Clinton... Those panic wake ups usually happen somewhere between 1:30 and 3:30 am.

No wonder I get so tired sometimes.

I suspect that it's connected with breathing, and that I have some form of sleep apnea... but again I come back to the No Insurance problem. I also find that I have a tendency to hold my breath A LOT. Not on purpose, mind you. But suddenly I notice that I've been holding my breath. I try to work on breathing conciously, but have limited success.

I wish I could find some answers.

Multiple Intelligences
Your Personal Evaluation

The Seven Intelligence Areas

Linguistic: 11

Logical-Mathematical: 8

Spatial: 8

Bodily-Kinesthetic: 7

Musical: 6

Interpersonal: 8

Intrapersonal: 9

A Short Definition of your Highest Score

Linguistic - the ability to use language to describe events, to build trust and rapport, to develop logical arguments and use rhetoric, or to be expressive and metaphoric. Possible vocations that use linguistic intelligence include journalism, administrator, contractor, salesperson, clergy, counselors, lawyers, professor, philosopher, playwright, poet, advertising copywriter and novelist.

I know that linguistic ability is one of my strong points. Always has been. But I really do think that I have a bit more than just linguistic intelligence going for me... or maybe I'm just jealous, and therefore pouting.

And if you have that burning desire to know where your intelligence(s) lie, you too can take the test...

Well, today was a bit...stressful. It was the first full day of school for all districts/schools for which we provide service and things were a bit chaotic. The phone, the radio, etc. It didn't help that the branch manager (who one assumes KNOWS what school startup is like) panics in situations like this. :o(

Note to self... remember to drink fluids when you will be on phone for several hours straight. Otherwise you become dehydrated. And that's bad.
