I am almost DONE! I just finished row 111 (that's out of 117 rows), so I'll finish up tonight.

From everything I've read, acrylic doesn't really block. The only way to get the drape this scarf should have will be to wash it and put it in the dryer, which softens the yarn and removes its memory. I crochet kinda tight anyway, so it does need to be loosened up a little.

If I'm wrong, PLEASE let me know. Otherwise, I'll do that before taking pictures and posting them.

w00t! I'm almost done!!

That's a squee moment (not a squick!). ;-)

Verdure, she is done. I just have to dab fray check on a little bloop of yarn, cut the bloop, wash and dry the scarf. Whew!

I am also more than half way through with my Secret Santa hat. This is a beret/newsboy style hat, which is done almost entirely in FPDC (front post double crochet) and BPDC (back post double crochet), creating a ribbed look and a thick but springy fabric. It eats up yarn like crazy -- I'm doing this in Noro Kureyon, colorway 188 in moss green, purples and gray/navy/black. I'm just finishing the crown up and I'm almost through my skein. I got two skeins, and the stitch is switching soon to single crochet, so that will use up a little less yarn. :) I was out doing driver observation today, and there's down time that I can use for crochet.

I also got the edging yarn for another hat, so I'll probably work on finishing both those projects tonight...before I start another one.
Here's a picture of the verdure scarf. It isn't drape-y yet, but will be.

And here's one of the hats I was just working on. This is a crown cap for D, my favorite Pagan American Princess. :-D Shhh...don't tell. It's a Yule gift.
